Pre-Requisites for Class Level & Type

  • • THURSDAYS, 6:45 - 8:15 PM CET (Italy)

    Recommended for students that are beginners in Iyengar Yoga AND for students that want to build on the foundational aspects and understanding of the key actions to enhance their overall practice regardless of skill level.

    CLASS FOCUS:

    Supports and props to help lay the foundation and achieve the proper actions in the poses.

    Repetitive and slower pacing to allow for easier application of actions in each pose.

    More time preparing poses.

    Inversions (no variations at this level). Alternatives to Inversions given when is needed / appropriate.

    PRE-REQUISITES:

    No pre-requisites.

    No therapeutics. Students have to be able to manage their own physical issues.

  • • TUESDAYS, 6:00 - 8:00 PM CET (Italy)

    Recommended for students that have a solid foundation of Iyengar Yoga and is interested in going deeper in their practice with more challenging poses.

    CLASS FOCUS:

    Approaching and attempting final poses up to the Intermediate level and introduction of more advanced poses.

    Faster pacing.

    Supports and props to help attain poses and their deeper effects.

    Inversions and their variations. (Alternatives to Inversions given when is needed / appropriate.)

    PRE-REQUISITES:

    A minimum of 2 years of Iyengar Yoga practice.

    5 minute free - standing Salamba Sirsasana I in the middle of the room.

    5 minute free - standing Salamba Sarvangasana I in the middle of the room.

    Can push up into Urdhva Dhanurasana directly from the floor.

    No therapeutics. Students have to be able to manage their own physical issues.

  • FRIDAYS, 11:00 - 1:00 PM CEST (Italy) or Monthly Workshop (see calendar)

    Recommended for students that are interested in the David Meloni’s thoughtful and insightful preparation and building up of asanas. This systemactic approach helps students to better understand and develop the key elements within each pose to bring it into their personal practice and teaching.

    CLASS FOCUS:

    Progressive and systematic breaking down and building up of the poses with supports / props to bring essential awareness and understanding.

    PRE-REQUISITES:

    A minimum of 2 years of Iyengar Yoga practice.

    “Pranayama: Engaging the Vital Energy” is a weekly class intended to harness the power and benefits of a consistent Pranayama practice. David Meloni begins by refining and building upon the foundational aspects. This guides us in the exploration of intermediate Pranayama techniques by the following methods:

    1) Using props to cultivate a deeper connection into the varying physical and mental affects of Pranayama.

    2) Create stability and space through actions and attention. 



    3) Cultivate the art of observation to witness and experience the nuanced and profound aspects and virtues of Pranayama.

    PRE-REQUISITES:

    A minimum of specific practice in Iyengar Yoga: 3 years of Asana and 2 years of Pranayama.

    No therapeutics. Students have to be able to manage their own physical issues.
